An integrated suite of services

Whether you are establishing a new venture in Lagos, managing cross-border tax obligations, or seeking dependable audit and assurance services, our multi-disciplinary team — spanning accounting, tax, legal and corporate secretarial expertise — delivers practical, realistically priced solutions tailored to your objectives.

We are mindful that our professional reputation rests on the quality of our work. That is why the selection of our people, and the rigour we apply on every engagement, remain central to how we operate.

Why international clients work with us

One advisory relationship covering Nigeria's key commercial centres and its oil & gas region.

Decades of in-market experience navigating Nigerian regulation, tax and compliance requirements
Internationally recognised qualifications (including ICAN and ACCA) held by our senior team
English-language reporting and communication throughout every engagement
Integrated legal, tax, audit and corporate secretarial support under one roof, reducing the need to coordinate multiple advisers
Direct, partner-level engagement on client matters, not delegation to junior staff
Remote and virtual consultations available for clients based outside Nigeria

In our clients' words

They took our audit seriously as a piece of work, not a formality. The partner knew our numbers before the fieldwork started, and the questions we got were the ones that mattered.

About us

A firm built on judgement, not templates

Our Firm

Tamuno George & Co. is a firm of Chartered Accountants founded by Tamuno Nathan George — a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary, Barrister, and banker. The firm was registered in 1980 under Nigeria's Registration of Business Names Act 1961 and commenced practice in 1982.

The firm is registered with the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria under FRC/2024/COY/144640.

We offer pragmatic finance and management solutions to large and medium-sized organisations, government agencies, and private investors — including a growing number of international and diaspora clients — drawing on the breadth of experience across our team.

Our affiliated legal practice, Tamuno George Chambers, gives clients integrated access to legal counsel alongside accounting and tax advice, providing necessary legal support whenever the need arises — a single point of contact for complex, cross-disciplinary matters.

Our Strengths

Our firm's success rests on two key resources:

01

A team of experienced, highly capable professionals with expertise spanning the major sectors of the Nigerian economy.

02

Modern, computerised systems and processes that allow us to respond quickly and accurately to client needs — wherever in the world our clients are based.

Where We Operate

Tamuno George & Co. is headquartered in Ikoyi, Lagos — Nigeria's commercial and financial hub, close to Victoria Island — with branch offices in Port Harcourt (Rivers State) and a presence in Bayelsa State. This gives clients national reach with the responsiveness of a boutique firm, and for international clients, a single advisory relationship that covers Nigeria's key commercial centres and oil & gas region.

Support at every stage of your presence in Nigeria

We provide an integrated suite of services designed to support your business at every stage of its presence in Nigeria — from market entry through to ongoing compliance and growth.

01

Taxation Services

Our firm provides a full range of taxation services, supported by the legal expertise of our affiliated chambers. We help clients plan effectively and keep tax liabilities to the minimum permitted by law. For foreign businesses in particular, we provide clear, jargon-free guidance through Nigeria's tax regime. Our taxation services include:

  • Companies income tax computation, filing and administration
  • Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) operation and returns
  • Support and advice during tax authority investigations
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance and returns
  • Property tax advisory and returns
  • General tax planning advice
02

Audit Services and Approach

Our audit approach is tailored to each client's business, not applied as a generic template. Before any audit begins, we hold a pre-audit meeting to agree the approach, timetable, scope and fees, and to understand the client's performance over the year, any constraints affecting their objectives, and management's plans for the period ahead.

Our preparatory work typically includes a visit to the client's premises, discussions with key management to identify specific areas of audit focus, and the preparation of a formal audit planning memorandum — an approach that has consistently supported efficient, well-targeted audits.

Our Managing Partner is involved from the outset of every audit, shaping the strategy based on his understanding of the client's business and extensive professional experience. From there, a detailed audit plan is developed and discussed with the full engagement team.

We maintain a continuous relationship with client management throughout the year, not only during the audit period, which helps us stay closely attuned to the business and respond to its evolving needs. Beyond the audit itself, we also provide practical advisory input, including:

  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Identifying opportunities to improve profitability
  • Advising on appropriate business controls
  • Reviewing computer systems, including controls, security and data analysis
  • Keeping clients informed of relevant developments in business law
03

Management Accounting Services

Successful business management relies on practical, experienced advice. Our management accounting services include:

  • Business start-up advice
  • Installation of accounting systems and software
  • Business plans, cash-flow forecasts and budget comparisons
  • Bookkeeping and other management services
  • Stock control and warehousing procedures
  • Payroll preparation and employment-related advice
  • General advice across a wide range of financial matters
04

Management Consultancy

Tamuno George & Co. specialises in helping organisations manage change. Our management consultants bring a minimum of ten years' practical experience to engagements covering:

  • Management Information Systems effectiveness reviews
  • Project evaluation, funding and management
  • Strategic planning and business engineering
  • Value-for-money audits, balancing effectiveness, efficiency and economy in cost monitoring
  • Market research, planning and analysis
  • Human resources training, recruitment and compensation studies
05

Corporate Finance

  • Mergers, acquisitions and disposals of companies
  • Appraisals for stock market flotation and advice on future capital structures
  • Group and financial reorganisation
  • Advice on raising funds from financial institutions
06
